Letter from the Director
am very pleased to serve as the director of the DLIFLC Alumni Relations Office and welcome you all back to
memory lane and a rapidly changing present.
DLIFLC's mission has grown significantly since you have graduated. The Institute has expanded, enrollment
has increased, and faculty numbers have swelled. I hope to keep you informed of the past and the present,
as well as aid you in finding your old classmates and professors.
DLIFLC will also be able to offer you ways to maintain your language skills, via the Internet, through
interactive programs, which have been developed by DLIFLC faculty. For more information go to
http://www.lingnet.org
Many of you have had the opportunity to advance your military and civilian careers as a result of having
attended DLIFLC. These success stories need to be remembered, documented, and disseminated in order for
younger generations to understand just how important knowledge of a language is. With a quarterly
newsletter scheduled for publication, I will gladly accept stories and photographs from your past
experiences.
I would like to invite you back to your old stomping grounds, to visit your old classrooms and have an
opportunity to speak with teachers and students.
Welcome back,
Natela A. Cutter
