Current Photo Gallery

D LIFLC's current photo gallery is designed to show up to date, recent photographs taken during events at the Presidio of Monterey (POM). One of the most spectacular events of the year is language day, which takes place every May. High School students from all over California are bused into POM for a truly authentic cultural experience. DLIFLC students decorate classrooms, prepare foods for sampling and wear national costume of the country and language they are studying. A traditional Chinese Dragon appears every year, to the delight of all visitors. Songs and dances are performed on stage and a variety of foods are available to taste, prepared by local Monterey vendors. Language Day this year is scheduled for May 2nd, 2003.

Other photographs will pertain to every day soldier life, from studying in the classroom to jogging in the morning.

Soldiers from all branches of the of the four services participate in events organized by the local community. Some of these events include cleaning up the beaches of Monterey, helping paint the SPCA and walk the animals, or volunteering to help out during busy seasons of the year such as the Laguna Seca Raceway or during the Pebble Beach Pro Am.
