Legal Services
Active-duty military members and their family members can take advantage of legal assistance provided by the Legal Assistance Office,
Building 275, Presidio of Monterey. Assistance is available with a range of personal matters such as notarization, powers of
attorney, wills and estates, family law, taxes, and consumer complaints.
Claims for lost or damaged household goods may be filed with the Client Services Branch, Building 275. Claimants must turn in DD Form
1840/1840R within 70 days of delivery and receive claims forms to help complete the process.
A service member who is under military investigation, who is suspected or accused of violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice,
or who has been notified of adverse administrative action, may seek assistance from the Trial Defense Service, Building 275, Presidio
of Monterey.
