Spouse Training
Language training is available for spouses where authorized and resourced.
Full-time training is conducted Monday through Friday, four to six hours per day depending on facility and class size. This may be in the same class as the sponsor if
compatible or in a separate class.
Part-time training consists of six to 18 hours of training per week. While days and hours may vary from student to student, the training must be done on a fixed
schedule.
Training is done only during duty hours and at the training facility.
DAS Spouses
Training must be authorized by the Attaché Training Management Office. Complete the required Agency form and submit as directed. Once spouse training is authorized,
DLI can work with sponsor and spouse on the details.
Non-DAS spouses:
Spouse training may be provided on a space-available or resourced basis, depending on the circumstances of the sponsor’s enrollment. This will generally require the
support and authorization of the sponsor’s Service. Call the DLI Washington Office Training Administrator (703-604-6845/DSN 664) for details.
