Organization and Responsibilities
The
Director serves as Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) representative for foreign language training and management organizations and
initiatives throughout the Washington, DC area. He maintains liaison with major elements of the Defense Foreign Language Program, as well as key members of the DoD
intelligence community and of the larger intelligence and language-training and –using communities.
The
Deputy Director acts as a chief of staff for overall office direction and management, with particular emphasis on special projects, and also serves as DLIFLC
liaison within foreign language management organizations and initiatives in the Washington, DC area.
The
Administrative Supervisor/USN Liaison is responsible for the daily administrative processes in the office and provides cradle-to-grave personnel and
administrative support to USN and USMC students.
The
Platoon Sergeant, who is a DLI-trained linguist, provides logistical and academic support for all students and also functions as a liaison with HQ USA, Fort
Myer.
The
NCOIC DLI-W CSS provides cradle-to-grave personnel and administrative support to USAF students.
The
Academic Advisor oversees the academic aspects of the CFLTP, working with schools and students to ensure the best training possible, He also represents DLI in
interagency and other language professional fora.
The
Training Administrator manages and directs the CFLTP and acts as a coordinator and liaison with DoD and other Federal agencies on foreign language issues.
The
Training Technician manages student enrollments and testing for the CFLTP, provides student support and coordinates field testing in specified low-enrollment
languages for the DoD.
The
Management Assistant provides student and administrative office support, including distribution, travel and supply, and serves as a civilian personnel liaison.
The
Information Management Officer maintains information technology infrastructure and provides support to DLI-Washington staff.
