Distance Learning Instructor-Mediated Courses

The School of Distance Learning’s (DL) Instructor-Mediated Courses are designed to combine the best aspects of both asynchronous and synchronous media to deliver highly-personalized instruction to foreign language learners wherever and whenever required.

Using the Blackboard Learning Management System (BB LMS), the Broadband Language Training System (BLTS), legacy Video Tele-Training (VTT) systems, and a range of Web 2.0 applications, DL learning faculty are able to design and package hybrid courses that balance flexible self-study components with face-to-face instruction and/or e-mentoring to meet the unique needs of individual students.

Our instructors are committed to ensuring that every language learner, wherever located in the world, is able to enjoy the full-range of benefits one would expect in a face-to-face instructional setting, including providing regular opportunities to practice speaking & listening skills, to ask questions, and to receive timely feedback and progress reports.
