Chinese Flagship Domestic Immersion Capstone Program: Producing Global Professionals with Higher-Level Proficiency

Abstract

This paper discusses the lessons learned from the six cohorts of the Chinese Flagship Domestic Immersion Capstone Program at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC). It reflects on factors that have contributed to students’ success, practices that can be incorporated more into the DLIFLC Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced classes, and benefits for Flagship faculty. The paper also discusses the contributions that the Program has made to the mission of DLIFLC.
