Administration

soldiers walking DLIFLCAt DLIFLC we recognize that our role, as the Department of Defense’s premier foreign language educator, is vital to the nation’s defense. With this in mind, DLIFLC’s dedicated faculty and staff carry out a vital mission, providing outstanding culturally based language education to military language professionals, while simultaneously supporting the general purpose force with pre-deployment materials in more than 40 languages.

It is our belief that language and culture cannot be taught in a vacuum; reality and the cultures themselves have a stake in the success of the student. Language acquisition is dependent on how well one understands the culture, religion, belief and value systems, economic strata, and geo-political climate of a particular nation. DLIFLC’s educational system has thus been structured to address the productive teaching and rapid absorption of this knowledge.
